The mural of the 4 seasons serves as a naturally calming backdrop bringing the garden into the Nursery. There is a complete selection of Montessori learning materials as well as heuristic and holistic equipment available to the children. These are daily prepared by our teachers to create stimulating and themed activities. These activities meet all the children’s individual needs in addition to the 5 areas required by the pre-school curriculum – Communication and Language, Emotional, Personal and Social Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Expressive and Aesthetic Development, Physical Development and Movement.
The Story Corner
Is used for a variety of activities including drama and dressing up. We also play with large construction toys, play circle games and play our musical instruments in this area. After lunch we play quiet music, sometimes classical, have a story and enjoy quiet time.
Accessible by the children whenever they wish, we bring the colours and textures of our garden into our aesthetic development and art materials. We interchange our medium regularly so the children can explore and experiment with their own individual ideas.
The Home Corner
Interchangeable panels allow our home corner to follow a thematic approach to learning – sometimes a doctor’s waiting room, a vets practice or a shop. We observe the children and follow their lead.
