Priestfield House Nursery
The nursery is small and personal.  It is bright, welcoming, friendly and caring.  We have divided the nursery into 3 main play rooms, one for babies, one for toddlers and one for pre schoolers.  In addition there is a separate art/dining room and a secure garden which we use all year round!

Baby Room (Under 2 Years)
Ready?  Ready to let go that little wonder of yours into a world without you by their side?  Ready to leave them with people you don’t really know, in a new nursery with lots of new faces ….Ready?
We know that it’s very much about you being ready for this new experience as well as your baby, that’s why, in the Baby Room, we have experienced staff in place that have a passion for working with babies and young children and can help you and your baby settle in with as much support and flexibility as possible.
The room is warm, bright and calm and has lots to entertain and interest babies as well as to encourage their development.  If you and your baby join us we will ask you to provide information on your baby’s daily routine.  This way we can care for your baby paying particular attention to what is important to you and them, including eating, sleeping, bathing and favourite activities.
Toddler Room

Like all children at the terrible two’s stage {only kidding!}, they need a bit of steadying at times!  They’re like ships that have just set sail on an amazing journey only they don’t really know where, and they don’t really care as long as it’s fun!
That’s why the staff at our little nursery makes sure the children in our toddler room get the guidance, entertainment, care and fun they need to land at the next stage of their journey.  Ready, happy and confident to move onto the next stage of their development.
The Toddler Room is bright, spacious and has direct access to the garden.  It has a lovely range of toys and a well-planned programme of activities.    The natural way for children to learn at this stage is through play and using the building and construction toys, learning to match colours, physical activity, dressing up and exploring the garden, your child will acquire many essential skills which will help them prepare for their pre-school years and which will keep you on your toes!

Pre-school Room
How many times have you heard, {they’ll be going to school before you know it…”}.  Yes?  Us too!
That’s why our small, personal staff group is here to make sure that learning stays fun for everyone, {you too!}.  There’s lots of information to take on board at this time and we’ll make sure it’s circulated regularly so that you’re ready for the journey towards school!
The pre-school room is bright, spacious, well equipped and has direct access to the garden.  The curricular framework for 3 – 5 year olds is central to the planning for activities at this stage.  When you come to collect your child from nursery, you’ll be able to learn about his or her daily activities, trips and outings and we’ll communicate regularly with you so that we can keep you up to date with our annual programme.  This way we can work together to make sure your child is ready for the next leg of their journey.  And when the time comes for them to go to school, I’ll bet you’re as excited as they are!
Art Room / Dining Room
This is a bright room where toddlers and pre-school children will have lunch.  Out with this time, the dining room is used as an art/messy room where babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers can come and enjoy painting, modelling, sticking, mashing, dribbling, smudging….. the list is endless!
