A very sociable part of the house where children gather round the table with their friends to eat meals and snacks at different times of the day. Baking and cookery also take place here.
Where children can relax and have the opportunity to play and explore a variety games such as chess.
Physical and drama activities are organised in the gym for children during the day. Activities such as dance and judo are on offer by specialists at different times throughout the week. There is a large park located next to the house where a variety of games such as football, rugby and rounders are organised. Roller blading is a popular activity as are trips to Edinburghs country side and to a local gym for specialist activities such as swimming.
All children are encouraged to become involved in art and craft activities where they have the opportunity to express themselves using various medium in a stimulating environment. During our Christmas workshop the children make a selection of gifts which they can give to their family and friends.
The children have the opportunity to participate in role play with a large variety of props and dressing up materials. This room is equipped with a selection of musical instruments which the children can use to join in with our regular sing-songs.
Construction based activities from building blocks through to technic lego are available as well as a wide selection of jigsaw puzzles and a large dolls house. Drawing materials are also provided so the children have a choice in activities.
This room provides space for the children to rest with beds and rest mats. Story telling is popular in here and there is a variety of books for the children to read and space for out of school children to do homework.
Situated at Seaton Sands, the caravan is a popular location for some of our many day trips. This base for outdoor activities is a favourite for many of children. Over night camping expeditions to the caravan are organised regularly for children over 8 years and have proved to be fun and rewarding.
